Le Pilier Foundation inaugurates its new “Maison Martin-Matte”

Blainville, March 23rd 2015 – Inspired by its first Maison Martin-Matte inaugurated in Laval in 2008, the second Maison Martin-Matte of Le Pilier Foundation is being revealed in Blainville. Realised and managed by the Foundation to take in 20 persons living with a traumatic brain injury or another type of physical impairment, this residence is the result of an innovative approach and collaboration between the Foundation and its major partners such as: la Société d’habitation du Québec (programme AccèsLogis Québec), l’Agence de la santé et des services sociaux des Laurentides, la Fondation Martin-Matte, the City of Blainville, le Centre de réadaptation en déficience physique Le Bouclier, le Centre de santé et de services sociaux de Thérèse-De Blainville et le Centre de santé et de services sociaux du Lac-des-Deux-Montagnes.

“This second Maison Martin-Matte of Le Pilier Foundation is another great example of its projects, which improve people with disabilities quality of life since 30 years. It is by combining its knowledge to the signifying support of their partners and donors that it is possible to ensure sustainability”, accentuate Mr. Sylvain Fontaine, president of Le Pilier Foundation.

Established in the heart of Blainville, Maison Martin-Matte de Blainville has the goal to promote occupants’ independence and their development in the community, near many services and a gorgeous accessible park. Coming from several residential and long-term care center and other places, the occupants will be able to live in a stimulating environment, which is strongly meeting their needs.

In term of investment, the realisation of this project, which as been achieved last December, has required a total sum of about 3.7 million dollars. There are 20 housings of studio type spread on two floors and entirely adapted to every occupant’s specific needs.

Maison Martin-Matte de Blainville also offers a personalized service with the help of its accompanist team, which ensure a daily assistance, 24 hours a day, as well as the targeted implication of other partners from the health network and the community network.

Le Pilier Foundation wants to thank all of its partners and contributors, who helped them for the Maison Martin-Matte de Blainville project.
